AUXETIC LANDSCAPES
Exploring the interplay between algorithm and human intervention.

Auxetic materials are structures that, when stretched, become wider instead of more narrow. In Auxetic Landscapes, an auxetic structure reacts to the presence of visitors. Upon someone entering, the installation comes to life from a 2D grid into a 3D landscape, returning to neutral once visitors distance themselves.

What happens when humans enter an untouched landscape?
